i have the v6 commodore in hilux, and when got auto done they told me the tcc wasnt going. got out to inspect it after reading about how to set it to lock up. and low and behold, the plug for the transmission is not plugged in.....
have been tring to find where the plug is but cannot find it anywhere. does anyone know where to run the wires from to make up the plug to get it working? been searching for VN wiring diagrams but i am not L33t enough to be able to find the diagrams. oh and its the th700 trans

I'm a dumb ass ya know, My lockup isn't controlled by the computer, when I had my car wired up during the rebuild I just got the sparky to put a switch in so I could lock & unlock the convertor when I wanted. In normal conditions the convertor locks up at about 65kph but only after the transmission gets up to opperating temp. So if you can just have it wired to a switch. I only lock mine up when I get over 80kph & I don't lock it up around town.

I think you will find this is how he wanted to lock it up. With this set up i beleive you can also lock the converter when in first gear low range going down hills to stop it from running away as much but im not sure what effect it would have on life span of the Auto or converter.

yeah, speaking with mechanic friend last night and asked him bout wiring, and he said you'll burn the convertor out locking it up on anything apart from cruising speed

They don't lock up in 1st gear at all, only from 2nd gear up to overdrive.
In a standard vehicle they only lock up above 65kph maily because it puts too much load on the transmission when you slow to a stop. There is 2 pressure type switches inside that are also conected to the lock up so it wont lock up until full opperating temp has been reached, this is to avoid any damage to the tranny & lockup system. I've never had any problem with running in low range locked up but I don't do it unless I am in 3rd or 4th gear usually.

the gerories manual shows a pink blue wire supplying fused 12v's to the vss & the torque converter solenoid.
the other side of the solenoid has a grey red wire going to the computer terminal A7. the 4 conectors at the computer end are labled A, B, C, D, 1,2,3 etc. well mine are anyway.
the trans also has a oil temp switch & overdrive swicth wired in series.
the od swicth goes to ground & the oil temp switch, light blue wire, goes to computer terminal C7.
