common for 80 series to have this problem

check the plug at the back of the alternator is plugged in properly and contacts are clean.

check that alternator, batteries, engine etc is earthed properly

I pulled my alternator apart and cleaned the brushes and armature and lubed bearing etc and put it back to solve this problem

pull the clip that holds the alternator harness to inner guard off so the wiring harness is free to move a bit

It means no output from alternator.
Something wrong there.
