I have the 4 rib on my Gq ute (33's). Low noise, great wear, best all allround tyre in the wet i have driven on. Good in the sand and does its job in the slop. A must for a daily/weekend driver.
Cheers Sam

they will carry a stupid amount of weight too- I had them on my Drilling Rig when i worked for Geodrill (then a set of MTZ's!) and they handled the 4 tonnes without any hassle at all!

I had the 5 rib on my GU. I think, not sure now if was 4 or 5 band, anyway:-
# uses were 91% on road, minor off road, beach work while towing camper trailer, & towing car trailer with comp truck.
# Rotated, balance & wheelalighnment every 10,000 (company car)
# Total KLM's travled were 110,000 in 18months
# good in the wet upto about 95,000klm range
# good in sand/gravle roads.
# good for minor off road esp due to the small side bites, combined with lowering tyre pressures help out in sticky situations for added traction.
# Road noise, very quiet, & only increased minamully with wear.
# OVER ALL OPINION.. I was very happy with these tyres, & will purchace them again..
# comparo.. at presant I am puting the MTZ'sthrough the same tests, to see the life span ect from these mud terains..
I hope this info can help Cheers Piglet.

I have been running the 5 rib on the GQ - 315 / 75 R16 since may 07 and now have just over 40K on them. They are wearing well except for chips and cuts from dirt roads and offroading. Still have about 8-10 mm tread depth - started at 13.4mm - at this rate will easily get 100K plus out of the set.
My only gripe is that they tend to chip a bit if you do some hard offroading on rock country - ripped a 3cm square by 1cm deep chunk out of one lug out wheeling one day... :(
As for onroad manners - excellent and also very quiet... especially after suffering the MT/Rs for 50K.
Recently caned the life out of them on a HARD and fast dirt road rally covering 800km of dirt. I drove the GQ faster and harder than I have ever done before. The tyres performed perfectly and were 100% reliable running at 25psi for the whole event- I could hook along dirt roads at 120 - 130km/h no problems. Tracked straight and were very predictable when they broke traction - which was quite often in the loose stuff
(Came second out of 23... pi55ed off a few of the Commodore and Falcon die-hards
)
I have done quite a few Stockton runs now and they are brilliant on the sand. Air down to 12psi and the truck is damn near unstoppable.
Nowadays I tend to to a lot more touring and on-road commuting in the beast with the odd beach run thrown in. The ATZs really are the most sensible decision I have made on the truck since I threw the turbo on.
They aren't half bad offroad - in the dry that is. Pretty crap in the wet or mud as you would expect but not totally useless. Fine for touring type work in the wet - gravel or tar.
Would I buy them again? I'd have to see what new tyres were on the market at the time and weigh up what I wanted to do with the vehicle first - but yes I would buy them.

I just took mine back to the importer here in Adelaide to check out some cracks in the sidewall near the bead. They replaced all 5, no questions asked, even after being on my truck for 15,000km.
Good service. Hopefully these ones don't crack. Apparently the cracks are due to too much "goo" they put into the mould to make it easier to get the rubber out (like greasing a cake tin before you put the mixture in).

Love my 4 ribs, had em on nearly 12mths, good on road, wet or dry, gravel, had em in some sloppy stuff once and spent the day dragging out people on mtz's, claws and mtr's
They have pretty good side bitters for a roadie so they worked well in low 1st with no throttle given them time to bite or wide open in high second to clear the mud with wheel speed ( 00 gu ute with bb turbo and screwed pump)
ive prob done about 30-40000 on em so far and they still have the mould release nipples on them
run em at 50 psi on the road and they drive ace
They're 36 x 15.5 x 18 so the width and lack of side wall make them handle really well on road, i wouldnt go back to a 15" rim again and get all the side wall flex and sway on road

anyone know why these didn't come out in a 35-12.5-15?
so they dont lose the market for the MTZ's?

nobody really wants AT's in a 35/15 rim.
They would sit in the warehouse for most of the year without selling.

I fitted a set of the 4 rib to my 80series, 285/75x16".
Just got back from a 8500kms trip to the centre via The Flinders, Oodnadatta, Alice, Finke, Mt Dare, a loop thru the Simmo.
Loads of goopy mud and harsh Gibber tracks.
These tyres were awsome, had them off the truck this arvo to rotate them and hardly a mark on them.
Pressures:
Road: front 38psi Rear 40psi.
Gravel: front 24psi Rear 26psi.
Sand: front 14psi Rear 18psi.
Truck was loaded with 2 spares, 3 Jerries on roof, 95litre main tank and 100 litre LPG tank, 65 litres of water plus drawer system 40 litre fridge etc.
Tyres handled everything with ease.
I highly recommend them, if your looking for an aggresive AT tyre these will impress.
