I've noticed on a couple of vehicles lately, "someone" has applied some sort of paint/coating to areas where hoses slide over alloy fittings like thermostat housings. It seems to be painted on first then the hose is slid over it as normal, though it appears it mite be dry before the hose is put on since there are no deposits on the inside of the hose.
I think this coating is to stop corrosion under the hoses in contact with the metal where they seem to sweat and corrode. These vehicles had inhibiter in the water as well. Does anyone know what this paint is and where/if it is available. From what I've seen it appears to work well.
