Ive done a bit of a search an read of people doing it, but cant find much else

basically want to get rid of the bench seat an drivers seat in my hj61
an put something slight more comfortable in it

anyone done this before?

I know they'll have to be a bottom mount etc
but im more curious as to how HARD it is to make single passanger seat fit were once a bench seat was.

Any idea an info would be great.

Had option of twin buckets instead of half bench on passenger side so mounts should be there for bucket.

On my HJ60 I used Commodore seats, modified slightly. I took off the height adjustment gear. Little bit of work involved, but fairly straight forward.

For the passenger seat, you can drill out the spot welds on the back bracket and move it over to the correct position to suit. I left mine where it was as it will make a good mounting point for a console at some stage. I bought a new seat mount from the wreckers (cost me $50, but I thought that was too much $$) and bolted it through the floor with 8mm high tensile bolts, mudguard washers and nyloc nuts. If you re-use the 60 series runners, you will need a new runner - the non adjustable slide from a drivers seat (as the RHS runner will mount in a different position to the for a single bucket seat).

A few months ago Supercheap Auto had pairs of 'racing' type seats cheap as. They bolt up directly to the 60 series runners. Only problem is with the side bolsters - I tend to 'slide' out of my seats, so not really what I want.

Let me know if you want anymore info on the Commodore seat mod.
