is the IC-F410 able to be used for normal 1-40 channel UHF ? its 25w yeah?

next question, is the 4400 25 w only? can it be modified to use 25 on " programmable" channels.?

Anything over 5w is illegal and can get you in big strife, the last thing the Boeing 747 flying overhead needs is to here you out 4 wheel driving.

I would think that both these are 5w units, definately the 4400 is, the icom would have to be a commercial unit to be over 5w.

genuine questions ->commercial 25w is illegal? dont alot of back tio base uhf's use 25w? i thought it was illegal between ch1-40 only?

not sure on the GME, the icom IIRK can be run 5 or 25w, in standard 5w and programed for standard CB 477.X UHF freq, ramping to run at 25w required commercial license as does programing for other freqs....I imagine the gme would be similar, but not sure

planes dont run on uhf, and they are way out of any CB freeq anyway they use VHF freq

no, legal if you have commercial license, doesn't matter what freq, although you need a commercial license and permission to have a particular freq tro have it programmed in the radio

Best we tweaked out of one was 7 watts before we got distortion, etc. Great radio sold mine for an old simco . the 4400 is a great solid reliable unit. I use it all day in the truck. Pretty sure its Kenworths , sterling,MACK factory install.

25 watt is illegal but have you heard of a tool called mick harris in Sydney. Self proclaimed hero on CH 40. Pumps out over 200 watt on a home base in cabramatta and can here the idiot on picton rd. He hasnt been busted yet
