Hello to all, new to this site hope there is good info?
thanks in advance for any help.
Has anyone done or know of a supercharged v6 into a 60 series or other type of cruiser?
Did it go well ?and or any problems.
Is a gen III a better fit?
Or what is a good upgrade for a 2f with H55
Thanks

im assuming youre talking about the supercharged v6 out of the commodore. its a pretty crap engine. a std naturally aspirated BA falcon motor puts out more power and torque.

Id say its too small a gain in performance for the effort required to put it in. if youre going to all that trouble anyway, go a gen3 or 6.0L. (or BA turbo 4.0L  )

i wouldnt waste any time with a v6 into a 60.

it is way too easy to put a holden 5L or chev in them for same fuel use and better torque.

end of the day its a 60 and the amount it would cost to put a s/c 6 in wouldnt make it worth it. its money you might as well be throwing down the drain or into lockers/gearing/suspension etc.

strait lpg 5L or 350 chevis cheaper, easier and more useable.

Thanks for the ideas fellas,

Only thinking of sv6 as thought maybe good power and not bad economy. Obviously not good idea.
Never thought of 4.0l T BA.
At least with the chev etc already adapter plates made.
Just want bit more power ,the old 2f just hasn't got it.
Want to keep the rig, sentimental and not only that good nick and a strong truck.
Maybe the 1uz might be the go for better fuel than the 5L but not sure how they go in a heavier 4x4, are they working to much?

1uz will work. your never going to get a 60 to fly without turbos etc.

all depends on how you want to do it and what you want too spend.
if it where me personaly i would do holden/chev for ease of parts/instalation/wiring etc. lpg only to get it engineered easier and cheeper fuel. 2nd hand gas system (tank in date) to get the 2 grand back (would cover the gas system with 2 tanks and engine adapter kit)
holden 5l's you can cook them, valve bounce them and treat them like crap and they keep comeing back for more.
can you imagine trying to get a rocker cover gasket for a 1uz in a small country town somewhere?

you are right, I don't know how many of the 1uz are in Aus but parts definitely have to be better for 5L etc.
Already on gas so will have most of what is needed for that.
Had any experience with geIII?
I have driven them and they certainly go but don't know long term reliability, I believe they are a 350chev , but computers etc worry me for reliability and especially once you start playing around with conversions etc.
Definitely don't want to blow huge sums of cash on it.

only with my brothers 330kw atw monaro. i would say even when heavily modified they are tough.

everyones doing it with 80's and pootrols just depends what you want to spend. going a gen 3 will cost you double but would go harder and use less fuel again.
theres a guy on here that can modify your loom so its all plug in with all your relays etc making it alot easier.
doing any sort of wiring swap would be an upgrade on factory 60 wiring
