What sheer pins to use on a pto winch

Hi all, just wondering if anyone could suggest what to use for sheer pins for a 60 series pto winch on a bj73 landcruiser??? i've try'd 4.5mm roll pin but i did'nt think it pulled enough before breaking. would high tensile fencing wire be too "agricultural"???? any suggestions would be great!!! thanks in advance.

Why not just get the "original" pins for the winch ?

The stock pins for these winches are tapered copper.
On mine I have drilled the pin out so it is parrallel and have fitted a 1/4" piece of copper rod. also keep 2 in the ashtray for the rare time one mite break ( Havent needed one yet)
The temtation to use a 1/4 " high tensile bolt is not recomended as the next weak link is the cable or the winch it self.
These winches were destruction tested years back for the SEC and were found to pull between 12500 lb to 15000 lb before breaking the castings in the worm drive or the PTO box.
I have had a couple and my father has always run PTO's and they have proven to be very reliable winches.
