If you can fit a engine driven fan the LN106 diesel radiator is suficiant
It keeps JDs 5 ltr ford cool

I run a heavy duty 3core deisel radiator in my86 with a 3.9disco V8. And a pair of 10" thermos on the front of the rad. It is very boarder line on running cool. Doesnt take much to get it hot but it also pulls the temp back down again if you ease off the throttle.

I had a 4.4 in it before this and it ran a little hotter but i also ran a 16" thermo insted of the 2x10"s.

Thats why you use a engine driven fan 8 or 10 blade
Thermo fans infront of the radiator BLOCK AIR flow
If you must use thermos fit them in the window to keep you cool

Years ogo i had a Hilux with a 383 chev, i fitted a radiator from a FJ75 Cruiser into it with a engine driven fan (must do the engine driven fan) this involved reshaping the rad support to get the radiator as far forward as possible and moved the front chassis x-member to the front of the chassis so the tall cruiser radiator could fit down through the chassis. This combination worked real well was a lot of work but worth it. Also you can fit a Bennet Ecotherm pump and thermostat system as it makes a huge difference.

i found that the stock firast gen radiator was fine when i had the old stock 253 in...but as soon as i fitted the 308, no good!

i am also running an aussie desert coolers rad which they make specially for a V8 conv... but still need an 18" thermo to try & keep it cool...it still gets hot when getting it
