Welsh Plug Replacement

My missus just bought a TJ from the Auctions. The mechanic tells me that the welsh plugs need replacing. He wants $700 to do it. I've done plenty of engine swaps on sierras and hiluxs but really didn't want to do too much work on this one. Is this a whole weekend engine bay strip type job or just a matter of pulling the exhaust manifold and swap them out?
Thanks

Is it oil around the rear main seal or radiator coolant?
The rear main seal always leaks. I had mine replaced twice under warranty and when the warranty ran out in 2005 and mine kept leaking, i just let it leak. I had had the clutch replaced in 2007 so they put a new seal in but it's doing it again. Unless it's leaving a pool of oil on the driveway, then it's normal
