Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Just curious how people would setup their winch (for non comp use) in the most ideal way and what battery types (not brands) they would use.

For example, would you connect to your primary battery since that charges first off the alternator, or would you connect to your secondary battery to ensure you can still start the car next time round?

Is the battery you connect the winch to more ideal to be a high CCA or a hybrid (high CCA/deep cycle) which would recover faster from the draining.

Have a good read through the auto elec section, and find a thread started by gueey in general tech on batteries, all the info is there.

In general, winch to main as long & short, this is what is monitored for voltage by the alt amongst other things.
