60 series spedo cable

Post by RockyF75 »

Anyone replaced one?

Do you need to take the dash apart/off, or are there any special tricks to make it easier. I had a look from under the dash and I can see where the cable screws in but my hands are too fat to get in there

And on the gearbox end, where will it be? Haven't had a chance to look around for it yet.

Unscrew the dash face and it is held in behind the speedo via a clip. Press either side and it slides out. When your putting it back in, make sure it's clipped in by pulling on it. You don't want it to come undone after you've put the dash back in.

There's just the two screws either side of the steering wheel aye? Or is there more?

Once you get it off behind the speedo it goes through a grommet just in front of the gear stick. It then connects to the gearbox on the passenger side.

You wont find it on the gearbox. It goes onto the transfer case, just to the left of the tailshaft flange. Simply unscrews. Might need some multigrips if its tight.
