GOT A 12,000LBS WARN WHICH CUTS OUT UNDER (I BELIEVE) SMALL LOADS. GOT 1 X 750CCA AND 1 X 550CCA LINKED FOR WINCHING THROUGH ARB SOLENOID. STANDARD ALTERNATOR PUTTING OUT CORRECT VOLTAGE (ACCORDING TO DASH VOLT METER)

WHY DOES IT CUT OUT?
NOT ENOUGH POWER? SHOULD I REPLACE 550CCA WITH ANOTHER 750CCA? OR GET HIGHER OUTPUT ALTERNATOR? IF WHAT AMPAGE SHOULD I GO?

TOO MUCH HEAT?

POTENTIAL OTHER REASON?

WHO CAN I TAKE IT TO IN BRISBANE TO CHECK IT OUT? OR HAS SOMEONE ELSE HAD SAME PROBLEM?

THANKS,
DAN

It shouldnt cut out, i ran mine on one 500cca battery once before i went duals.

Have you just installed it?, is the motor earthed properly (the smaller cable? and all other cables fine, could be a dodgy solenoid, take it to arb or where you bought it from.

was fitted in late 07 but it hasn't done a lot of work at all. I've seen others pull way bigger loads all day long and they never cut out so somethings wrong. ARB fitted it so i'll get them to check it out. Hope i get someone who knows what they are doing! Thanks berad

My mate also has a brand new warn 12000lb low mount, and it cuts out just re-spooling the cable up a small hill, not even recovering a vehicle. He is yet to get his checked out.

I beleive these winches have a overtemp cutout switch in them. Maybe there is a bad batch out there?

thanks mate i'll get arb to check it for me i'll let you know if they find anything so your mate can get his done. They have a warranty so your mate could prob get his done under that. I bought mine and it sat in the shed for the warranty period while deicding which bar to put on.
