Wheel spacers space your wheels further out from the vehicle, increasing track.
They're illegal, unless they're OEM fitment.
They're just one more thing to go wrong. If you really want to increase the track of your vehicle buy new rims. Patrol rims will increase track by 20mm (legal), LandCruiser rims will increase your track by around 60mm (illegal). There may be other aftermarket sizes in between - shop around.

Anything that is illegal as far as the RTA or Transport Dept is concerned will deem your car unroadworthy, and hence void your insurance.
