hey guys,
nearly time to change the oil on my G16b vitara again. I've been using Castrol Magnatec for the last few years, but i've been told that in older engines sometimes using a thicker oil can be better as it burns and leaks less.
i know theres been heaps of talk bout it, but anyone got any opinion on whats best to use ?

i have a 94 vitara 348,000 kms!!!
i change oil every 5,000 km
i put castrol GTX- cheapest castrol oil..
still going strong 4wding every weekend... doesnt burn oil...
i think magnatec and all of the other stuff is just a gimmic, a mechanic will say he puts good stuff in when i see a few using some cheap 'gulf western' oil stuff...
i really think the key to keeping your motor good is to change the oil every 5,000km...

I have heard alot of bad things about magnatec.
I generally use a synth blend 15-40 for most cars. Once they get old and leaky i use hpr50 or 60.
