8 degrees out...

Some wanker who is related to my missus' best friend was telling me that the body on an 80 series and early 100 series Cruisers is 8 degrees crooked on the chassis. Basically he reckons that when the chassis is facing straight ahead, the body is 8 degrees towards 1 o'clock, if that makes sense...
I was pretty surprised that the best car manufacturer in the world would make that mistake, and told him it was bullshit, "Nah, they had a problem with a robot, and only discovered it when they started the 100 series"...
Anyway, tell me he is dead wrong...

lol
he may be talking about the slight twist in the drivetrain that is present in many cars, for specific reasons.
I was tempted to go google this and "prove" its wrong, but seriously, 8degrees is a heck of a lot, and the bumpets would definantly have huge gaps.
Let me make a guess, he drives a patrol? Cause he couldnt afford a cruiser?

He definitely said the body was crooked compared with the chassis -
I think he has been smoking too much crack personally....

i cant confirm or deny that this 8 degree thing is true but i am an electrician at a major car company, i work on assembly robots everyday, i can assure you that a problem with one robot would not cause this issue

Whilst I do own a Cruiser I must admit the whole Toyota makes the best ...blah blah blah / Toyota has the best build quality blah blah blah is crap HOWEVER it astounds me someone could think a company like Toyota could make how many thousands of vehicles over nearly ten years and not know that a robot is malfunctioning. Also that no-one in this whole wide world actually found this out either over that period to tell them. I'm sure plently of panel shops would have realised long ago even if Toyota didn't.
