5L head on a Turboed 3L? Got bigger valves apparently....

Post by Outer Limits Hilux »

G'day all

Just wondering. i read somewhere that a guy ditched his 3L for a 5L, the ct20 turbo bolted straight up. apparently the 5L cam is the same as the 3L. i know the power drop off (also max boost) on a 3L is about 3000rpm, 5L is about 3450 rpm (also max boost). he was gettin around 90kw at the wheels....

with these few similarity's between the engines i got thinking that maybe a 5L head would go beautifully on a 3L. Is this possible and if so, whats the power like?

Cheers
