Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey all as above,

I have a 5sp Manual 91 80 series (HDJ80). Being a GXL It has a Full time 4wd transfer case but is fitted with a marks part-time kit

All of a sudden it is really hard to shift from H to N to L and back. It used to shift easy as like you could move it using 2 fingers. You could feel it click into each position. Now the lever is really really hard to move and you cant feel when it selects N or L.

There are no strange noises or anything. Every thing is fine except for how hard the lever is to move.

Any suggestions?

Pull the gear stick boot covers off and see if it's full of dirt, sand around the top of the low range stick.

Try lubing it up a bit as above.

Also try and go reverse for a metre or so before shifting between the ranges, just to unload the driveline a bit.

Try going to the gym and building you arms up

Or maybe swing a axe troy Mine done it has been bad ever since fraser island trip, will fix it one day for now i just have a piece of multi use pipe
