I am look at replacing the original seat in my HJ47 with something more comfortable. Just wondering what seats people have used? Can I wack pretty much anything in or will it need to be from a more upright sitting position 4x4 type vehicle? Are some seats going to be more easy to modyfy than others? What is the go with getting them inspected (in vic) will I need some sort of engeniers certificate? Is this going to be a problem with my dodgy home modification?

I used XF Falcon seats in my 40. Angle frame used original bolt holes on the seats and the body.

Yes you need it plated.

See if I've got pics....

G`day guys,

I was lucky and found a pair of Mazda 626 seats in pefect condition, and with a change in the seat mounts.. ie, welded a plate in where the seat conects to. that means I can put any seat i want in with a drill and high tensile bolts. the hardest thing was to get the alignment right. other then that the whole job took 4 hours. total cost.... $42.00..... (beer) Mmmmmmmm

is your hj47 a ute, aftermarket seats can make leg room even tighter in an already cramped cab, mines a pain in the arse to get in and out of,even with a sports steering wheel,i still have to squeeze my fat arse in,lol
