When my engine reaches about 2000+ revs it's really slow to drop down when I decellerate.
I have tryed free reving it from the fuel pump under the bonnet and the lever seems to be returning ok it's just dosen't seem to be dropping revs quick.
apparently the fuel pump was reco'd not long ago so I'm hoping it's nothing to major.
anyone got any idea's??

when it started happening i was half way round the block, it was like it whent from fine to this.
Just thinking

If you over ajust the fuel screw this will occur. Try backing it off half a turn.

take the accelerator cable off the pump end and free rev it to see how quik it returns to idle. my td42t did this and i replaced the acc cable for about $25 fron nissan. my cable was full off mud somehow.

Also I forgot to mention to check return spring tension. My pump throttle had poor tension when I recieved it and I found one of the return spring tails wasn't fitted behind its stop correctly.

I've tried disconnecting cable and reving from pump so thats not the problem. return spring also looks to be working good

I would give Andy Diesel tech a PM, he's the subject matter expert for pumps and injectors.

If your fuel pump is maxed out, the governor spring struggles to return to 0 fuel ( foot off the pedal ) due to the amount of fuel being pumped against it.
Do some pump mods and then you wouldn't have this problem, ( with the same Air fuel settings ) obviously the same thing can occur if you max it out again with a larger plunger.

Backed fuel screw off 1/3 of a turn and the problem seems to have gone. seems strange for it to all of a sudden start playing up? thanks for all the replies.

dunno, could it be the air conditioning idle step up? I just upped my fuel delivery after fitting a turbo and IC and found that the step up was holding the idle up. Just my 2c worth
