Hey all...

mudflaps... who use's them who dosnt?
mineare annoying me as i keep braking chains. so im thinkin of takin them off.... i keep gettin larger chains from mitre10etc but still brake em .. how do u run them without chains and keep them off the tyre?
wot problems arise withouth them... i can think of Police, and stone chips etc but this dun matter as i have a POS anyways.. the 4wd behind mite care though?

mite as well just take them off i think.

The first thing i did when i got the hilux home was take the mudflaps off. I hate the bloody things. They look terrible and would tear them off while playing anyway! If i have a problem with the police i will look at alternatives then but so far so good.

when bought my latest 4b didnt have mudflaps. still doesnt

got some stone chips on rear panels (but paint job not crash hot anyway), but no chips near front becaues of standard side steps.

First cop that saw me without mudflaps pulled me up. Unfortunately they are a necessary evil. And your not doing any good for the public opinion of 4wders if your covering the vehicle behind you with road grime etc.

83lux on here has em on his lux, and from what i've seen, when he's offroad, he hooks the chain up, so i pulls the mud flap right up under the tray

left em on.. ran my 33's.. didnt realise they were being scraped the whole time on my GQ until i went to moreton and did some creek jumping .. suffice to say i nearly tore them out of their mountings..

Arrived home they went in the bin. ... and the patrol has since been off the road due to an engine change - havent tried drivin around without flaps yet.. but i'd prolly have to soon

I remove mine for offroad. But I also change tyres and rear driveshaft so the madflaps are insignificant.

yup, also have the chain system on the fronts, waiting for andrew to make me another rear mount for the left side, and I'll mount them, and do the same

I use light chain on my Mav, but when offroading I hook them up higher nearly level to prevent snagging and lower them again when airing up.
