just went out and spent big bucks on a hi steer kit and rock rods only to find that the set up doesnt quite fit the way it is suppose to...
anyway I have been told to move the steering box forward maybe an inch or so which I dont really want to do but probably will have to...anyway my question is what is the longest pitman arm of all the landcruisers I been told the splines are all interchangeable...
some of the mods on my 40 series I have done so far include 60 series power steering and diffs with arb lockers front and rear soon to go in, spring over ,front shackle reversal ,wheelbase increased from 89 to 100 inches...thanks people all the help is always appreciated :) ...
thanks
Eddy

If you don't wanna move the box forward how about moving the axle back by drilling the spring perches, this is what I ended up doing to stop the t/r and d/l from binding. I think from memory that the ifs pitman is the longest.

sounds ok 4sum4 ,will an 80 series rod end fit the tapered end of the arm also the arm needs to be around 220mm long from spline to tapered hole to get me out of trouble which I doubt would be that much longer as the 60 arm is 170mm....also dont want to move the axle back as hophoar was saying as I will lose 50 mm in the wheelbase....looks like it maybe time to get the gas axe out and do the steering box a second time....  aint life a bitch sometimes....

Pretty sure the 80s will fit and to fit the hilux arm you`ll need a end to suit.
gas axe seems the way

Sorry dude but I think moving the steering box is the way to go. I wouldn't want to fit a pitman any longer than what you got due to the strength factor. Don't ya hate doing things twice
