gday guys,

bought this car a few weeks back to play with.

was ADVERTISED as a 1995 surf, but it wasnt til the next day i noticed it was a 1992 model with a 1995 drivetrain. (i kno wi should have been paying more attn, but i also trusted the seller wouldnt try something so blatent).

ANYWAY... car drives great but had a known issue of the vehicle not engaging 4x4.

got told it was the 4x4 computer that was fried and needed to be replaced.

so ii bought a replacement and chucked it in today. then noticed the 4x4 wire hanging off the side of the 4x4 engaging lever doesnt seem to go anywhere!

i didnt unplug it, and theres nowhere i can see that it goes at all?! i looked for about an hour, and i cant see where it should go. There are a few random 2,3,4 prong plugs in the general vicinity but none that it fits.

does anyone know where this wire plugs in, what colour the wires are or anything that may help?

Is it possible the guy perhaps never had 4x4 engaging on it since the engine conversion? he claims it did work, so i hope its nothing major or a chunk of loom missing from the conversion.

heres a pic:

and secondly i noticed there was what seemed to be snipped wires off the back of the 4x4 control box...

is there any reason these should be disconnected or deliberately clipped? this is PAINFUL...

i have noticed theres a terrible wiring job under the dash with snipped wires which mainly look stereo related though.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, to either personal experience, a website or wiring diagram that would be muchly appreciated.

thanks guys,

Mark
