gday I am running a rear mounted radiator in a commo v6 powered truggy but Im having a problem with when it starts to warm up and the thermostat begins to open it starts to dump all the coolant out of the overflow bottle.I am running a standard cap and overflow setup and the radiator is higher than the motor.Im wondering if an air blockage in the system would cause this or if anyone else has had similar issues, any advice would be greatly appreciated

def sounds like air mate you might find that the standard water pump might be cavertating too .you probably have heard of the eletric ones .Also try putting a pressure hose in the system and crack lines at the highest points.Air locks can be a bitch.Oh remember the dumb arse things like rags and blocking tape left on block ,wouldn`t be the first time somthing like thats happend(I did it once). Cheers Billy..

Those V6 commy engines are a prick to bleed the air out in any case!

Thankyou for the replies and yes they are a bitch to get the air out.Ive fitted a airline fitting on a section of pipe near the top of the radiator and just connect a flojet pump to it and force the air out under pressure as i pump the coolant in and it seems to be working.
