G'day Guys
I finally got a 4wd after 6 months of looking. Its a LWB '89 Mav on petrol. My problem is i have a bunch of derro mates, and less than a week after getting it they have managed to fall into the door and push it in. The major dint has pushed out, however, there are creases where there are bends in the steel. What can i do about these and how much will it cost to get them removed by a pannel beater? And can anybody recomend a good panel beater?

Cheers Guys,
BEn

First recomendation get new mates, damage is okay done by yourself, and rocks and shit, but when i comes to car park/mate damage, its fucked, go boot there doors in, and see how they react.

unless you're going to sell it, leave it. if you drive off road you'll get dents and scratches anyway sooner or later. when it's time to sell then worry about it.

if you're half handy with a hammer and you really need to fix it, and dolly you should be able to knock out the worst of the creases (need to pull all the lining off the inside of the door) then a little filler to cover up what can't be knocked out, sand, paint, bob's yer uncle.

you could try a wrecker for second hand door I spose...

whatever you do send the bill to the yutz who bent your door, that's just gay.

could b worse , i did it once myself......my own fault......sandwiched my arm between the door an a tree when the truck slipped
an yes most popped but the crease stayed

as said
if u going to use it offroad.......leave it
u will only get more

worry bout it later in the game if its an issue still

seco door "shells" r still bout 400 i think , and then u hafta swap everythin over

Creases won't come out in a hurry, the panel beater told me to get a new door ( bout $600 new ) so I tried doing it myself, and he was right, looks crap but will do for a while.

Not sure what it will cost to fix but i say fix it wether or not you are going to offroad it. Once you start leaving them they get on top of you and in no time yourdriving a rig that not only looks like crap but is worth nothing and is too expensive to fix. Fix it as soon as you can afford and keep on top of it and you will be much better off in the long run.

Cheers guys.
I think il get a quote to get it ixed and if its not too much il get it done. The mongrels that did it will be paying. I know there will be more dints to come so i cant really worry too much.

As Ruff said - keep on top of the smaller ones otherwise it gets out of hand. Or just wait until you roll te vehicle and have to replace the whole cab :finger:
