Howdy all.
doing a rewire now I’m installing the G16B into my sierra. pictured on the left hand side is a very simplified version of the original vitara wiring and on the right is what I want to do. I should add that iv installed the 110A falcon alternator. It’s a much simpler system I think, is it too simple? Am I missing something that people who get payed a lot more than me designed for a reason??

Are you sure there is an 50A fuse between the alt and batt? I cant find one on me G16B vit?

But thats not the point.

I believe most people use some heavy gauge cable (150A or more) to wire the Alt directly to the battery (whats going to happen to your circuit breaker every time you draw the max 110A the falcon alt is rated for?). All the constant power and stuff that runs to main relay etc connects to the battery on separate circuits with the necessary fuses.

Remember with cable selection you want the rating of the cable to be greater than the sum of the expected draw of the devices it will supply with the rating of the fuse somewhere in between.

like this maybe

Cheers PCR, yea just going off of the diagram i have which says thers a 50A or 60A (its too blody small to make out) fusable link between the batt and gen. good idea though, saves on heavy guage wire. Thanx for taking the time for the diagram as well, took me like half an hour to get mine right, fiddly crappy thing!
