I have twisted the sector shaft on my 80series steering box twice in two weeks.
I am looking for options to beef it up or reduce the cost to repair it.
Mine has progressive rate power steering (Sahara and VX), a replacement box cost me $500 from the wreckers. Std box is around $300 and not direct bolt in replacement.
Options I can see at the moment are;
buy a std box and strip it and my original and combine the two. $300 and a bit of time.
fit a 105series box, supposed to have a larger sector shaft, but I'm not sure of cost or compatability.
Any suggestions or info would be good.
cheers.
