15B in a cruiser?

Got a 15b at work with a blown head gasket, and wanted to know if it's worth fixing up with a turbo?
Have heard a few good things about these motors.
The plan was to fit it to a cruiser maybe a 60 series or a 40.
Will the engine bolt up to a land cruiser box, say a 13b or similar, or are they a different animal?
cheers
Matt

No they wont fit. You had better give it to me. Only kidding Lol.
I have put a 14B in my bj73 and it fit with no mods at all. I have been told (but cant confirm) that you need to grind a little bit off some high points in the bell housing, to clear the clutch and fly wheel to fit the 15B. Apart from that I have been told that it is as easy a swap as the 14B.
Seriously though, If you dont want to do anything with it I would be interested in taking it of your hands. As is.

Did you use a 3b bellhousing and input shaft to bolt up your 14b to the middy gearbox?
Do you run a turbo?

The 15b should bolt up to any 'b' bellhousing.
I think the grinding may be refering to fitting a 'b' bellhousing to an R151 gearbox, you have to grind something then. Otherwise the engine to bellhousing is 100% bolt on.

Do you know if the flywheels are interchangable?
This one was thrown in the scrap bin.
Can you bolt up an auto, as in the auto 13bt?
Guess i will pull the head and check the damage, as it got a bit hot.

Not totally sure about 15b to earlier b engine flywheel interchangability. However I think a clutch guy told me that they are the same as HJ75 flywheels, so double check on this, but it may be an option.
I know nothing about toyota autos, sorry.
They are not a cheap engine, so give it a check. They are the most bizarre 16 valve arrangement in the head ive ever seen, its like somebody cheated

Yes I used all the B stuf. Basically just took the 3B out and bolted the 14B in. No I am not running a turbo yet unfortunatly. will be as soon as I can. I could not get hold of a turbo engine at the time, plus they tend to be flogged more.
The grinding I was told about was a little bit off the support ribs on the inside of the bell housing as the clutch etc is a lot bigger.
No, i dont kow the answer to the auto either.

The plan might be out the window cause the engine place want the motor back, or a core deposit has to be paid
What sort of money are these engines worth?

Yeah we had this problem when dad bought his 15B. eventually conviced them to sell us one outright. Charged us around $7000 if i remember correct (this is a 100% rebuilt motor). Found out later they gave us the price for a 2nd hand non-rebuilt one they had; price should have been closer to $9000 apparantly. We also had to get the diesel pump modified, as it was original a 15B-FE motor, and we had it modded back to 15B-F.
Personally too much money for a motor IMO, but my father was happy to pay the 7 (His car, not mine).
