Terrano on Navara chassis?

As above. Will a '97 Terano body fit on a '95 Navara chassis?
Navara body is rusted to buggery and the motor blew 12mths ago so wont get back on the road.
A mate has a Terrano bought as a repairable write-off but can't get the steering geometry fixed to pass for a blue slip(NSW)
Thought I might sell him the rolling chassis and scrap the rest to make the missus happy.
So will it work? It should but...........................

I haven't seen the Terrano but I'm guessing it's a T2.
Pannelbeaters have told him the chassis and everything is straight but camber is way out and can't be adjusted(?).
His missus wants to end the Terrano after so much frigging around but he wants to finish it.
My missus wants the Navarra gone after sitting there for over 12mths.
Just thought it might be a win/win.

a 97 terrano should be a gen2 terrano.

if the body is rounded corners plus a air scoop on the bonnet then it'll be a terrano 2.

the terranos share the same chasis as the the 720, early navaras, pathfinder, the terrano 2 still use a ladder chasis it's only the "pathfinder" here is when the uni body came in.

terrano1 body and terrano 2 body should swap on the same chasis as almost everything is the same bar pannels.

terrano to navara I'm not quite sure it may work if the navara is a gen 1 chasis.

If it is an R50 Terrano then it doesn't have a chassis. To tell is pretty easy. Does it look like a Pathfinder or is it really f'ugly? Like Pathfinder then R50 then no, if f'ulgy then it has a D22 ie Navara chassis under it.

Is there any way to tell what model chassis it has from the chassis number?
Ie D21, D22 etc?
And yes it does have a chassis.

W(Y)D21 = Terrano 1 / Pathfinder '86.5-'95
R20 = Terrano 2/Mistral '93-'04 based on Terrano 1 frame (only LWB body will fit Terrano 1 chassis, SWB/3 door Terrano 2 is shorter while Terrano 1 uses same frame/wheel base for 3- and 5-door bodies)
R50 = Pathfinder/Terrano (JDM) no ladder frame, totally different vehicle '95-'05
MD21 = Navara / Pick Up with 2 different wheelbases '86-'97
MD22 = Navara / Pick Up 2nd gen. '98-present
D40 = crappy new Navara
R51 = crappy new Pathfinder

Navara (Pick Up) and Terrano only share the front half of the body up to the body mounts behind the front seats.
You could interchange the bodies between W(Y)D21 and LWB R20 without problems.
