Yep looked with search, found nothing useful.
We have had a strange thing happen this week in melbourne it RAINED!
So whilst i'm driving though the aformentioned phenomenon ,my boots and socks were filling up with water.
Its dripping from under the dash everywhere and now i know why the floor was Rooted!
Is there hosing or a blocked tray that i should be lookin for?

Thanks SHEPS,
Well made but isn't that an air inlet for the vents and heater?
You said that it was a crappy rubber seal.. on the heater box or where it joins up to the vents in the firewall?
Does the dash need to be stripped out to get at it?
I don't mind where it is but i don't want to pull appart the whole car for an easy to get at issue!
Has anyone else repaired one?

If it hasnt been done in years, you should clean out the heaterbox anyway, so my advice would be to pull out the dash, unbolt the crossbar, remove the heaterbox and completely strip, clean and reseal.
Is very satisfying to know its all nice and clean, that you did it properly, and it only takes a good solid half days work. You can also then see where its really leaking from, and also access all under the dash to repair any rust if there is any.

heating isn't an issue for me and sierra aircon's only draw air from the passenger footwell. it is more then likely ether the drain for the vent thing or the windscreen seal.

i had this drama in my 89 sierra.
there is a little black rubber hose that comes down from behind the dash and thru the firewall, into the engine bay, just check that the hose hasnt came away from the firewall.
also, mine leaked they the bonnet hinge, check that its not cracked around there too
hope this helps

Mine leaks from the bottom of the windshield. The foam seal is stuffed and with rust causes water to come in. It has a habit of falling on my right foot.
It really only happens in heavy rain or highway runs.

by short stuff
i had the same problem i found i had no seal under the window so what i did was buy some silicone and fold the window down and run a nice thick bead of it along where the rubber seal goes so once you put the window back up it squeeze out the front of the window if not leave it up and rund some along the lip under the window.
Also it might be coming through the top of the soft top where it clips on the side

That was the main issue with me but over time the rust spread. I had to remove the rust, weld a steel plate on the bottom of the windshield surround, drilled a hole to feed the antenna wire thru, filled with bog to seal and paint. It was a bit rough, but it works and it's unseen.
Now the seal has buggered up and ive been too lazy to fix it. Maybe if Melbourne had more rain, I will get off my arse.
