isnt the gt2871r to suit a sr20 ? or are the just the same turbo ?

well if its a diesel then no a gt2871 is actually pretty good for it will make boost a bit later then a gt2860r but diesels dont rev high enough to need boost on late.. also for a low down tourqe petrol engine it would be ok..
from factory sr20's come out with a gt2560r (also not bad for a diesel can get them cheap)
sr20s can still rev pretty high before those choke aswell..
for petrol a gt3076r would be good match..
gt35 might be too big.. unless you want power higher up..

l have been told it bolts straight up on an sr20 as an upgrade from the factory turbo

the 2871r is a very popular turbo for the sr20, though a little small for the higher street car figures, its a brilliant turbo on those motors.
because of this, they made one which matched the factory lines so nothing had to be changed to bolt it on.
from the right supplier $1300 is a standard price for that sort of turbo.
if you look on the garrett website, there are a heap of different GT28 turbos, picking the right one with the right size housing etc is a bit of luck.
they will all work, some better than others though, i wanna know what turbo dzltec uses
