Safety Harnesses

Just finished getting my cage complianced and now moving on to the next thing . I want to run harnesses both sides of the car and the guy that complianced the cage said he would do the harnesses aswell later on.

If they are mounted to CAMS specs, is that suitable for onroad use aswell? Also what is the general consensus on harnesses, 4, 5 or 6 point?
Is it better to mount the harness to the cage or to the floor behind the cage, and using the harness bar simply to correct the angle of the shoulder straps? Will be running seats with provisions for harnesses with them.

Where is the best place to buy them? Just places like Autobarn?

CAMS is fine for onroad. better than a normal seatbelt really

5point minimum. having that groin strap is great at stopping the harness riding up.

genneraly best to mount the shoulder straps near horizontal, so it depends on what setup you have as to whether you should mount to cage or floorpan.

dunno if autobarn has them actualy... i get mine from race shops, its cheap for me coz i know the owners, so thats easier for me

I have just built my cage myself and have had my cage approved and when it comes to the harnesses, I have 2 that I bought off ebay and they are monza brand and they complie with ADR 4, AS/NSZ 2596 and they are 4 point and are mounted on my cage.

Thats the one's.....you also have to have a tag on race seats that have ADR3, VSB 5A or VSB 5b which monza have on theirs, and when i bought my from ebay was lucky they had the label on them.
