hyperthetically, what options are feasible, to replace the standard 2.4 petrol 8 valver in the Y front L300??

strangely fuel economy would be the goal. the idea being, if the replacement was alot stronger, it wouldn't work so hard and/or drink so much. there is the factor of the vehicle's aerodynamics of a loaf of bread.

so was wondering your opinions on any replacement motor options.

would a starion turbo bolt in??

is there width enough for a 3.8 commodore V6??

would a 13B rotor have the torque to push the van at highway speeds??

any other options not mentioned?

will.

13Bs are not particularly efficient, so, if efficiency is the game, I wouldn't go there.

NFI about the 3.8.

Are you sure the current motor is a 2.4? I would be looking at the 4G64 (2.4 16V efi from later model Triton) or a worked (for torque/economy) 2.6 Astron.

I'd try delicaclub.com for an answer.

i dont think u would really get much better fuel use from any of them,

the 13b would need to rev to push the van so there wont be any gains there,

and i would think the cost of swapping from a 4cyl to a comodore v6 would be a lot more than the extra fuel you would use in the next 2 years, but if you have the motor doing nothing it might prove cheap enough,

just swapping to a fresher version of the motor you have would only be a benifit if the motor you have is really shagged
