Outer Limits 4x4 Board

In Queensland, is there any rules or laws in place saying wat kind of welder you can use on panels? I'm handy with the stig or mig its just that the I already have a stick and don't want to get a mig welder if I can use a stick welder.

Mate, I'm pretty certain it doesn't matter what welder you use, However, be aware that stick welders weld fairly hot and you run the risk of warpage or burn through. Stick welders aren't really designed for sheet steel such as car pannels and you would definately get better results and a straighter pannel out of a mig.

You would have to be a great welder to weld panels with an arc welder. MIG is the way to go, the lower the amps the better 30 +/-

You could try it with a stick welder, but I doubt it will be very sucsessful.

yeah mig are the way to go oxy isnt to bad either if can weld with it

Panels are not really structural but the rule of thumb is that the structural integrity of any "panel" repaired must not be compromised when doing repairs.

Usually there is no stipulation of how or what is used to repair a pane as long as the strength is retained.

I love the control you have with oxy wleding, so underrated I think.

myself iv mig welded my old jackaroo and tig welded a toyota camry both as easy as each other but migs quicker
