Hey what are the differences between the g13 a and g13ba blocks?
I tell ya
The clean one is a swift g13ba and the dirty a sierra g13a
Red squares indicate extra reinforcing and mounting holes
Red squares indicate extra reinforcing and mounting holes
The single red square for gearbox or somenthing
i could not spot any major differences
Finally the top, almost identicle except a bump at the rear on the g13b
(you can also see it at the top of the block on rear shot)
I pulled both engines apart nearly 2 years ago and they do look the same particulary when you do it one at a time and the sierra block being so dirty
it wasnt till i had them side by side cause i was planing on listing them on ebay for $15 each that i really saw the number of changes in the g13b
gut feel would of made me say the g13a was a better block but thats just because its in really good condition despite all the elements it has faced. if i can remember to buy a button battery for my digitals scales and find the end caps for the g13b and weigh them.
the other difference between swift and sierra blocks is the rods, the sierra has thick gti-like rods with the 17mm pin and the swift has thinner rods (about 1.5mm-2mmm from memory i dont have the swift rods anymore)
any other request for me to check on the blocks let me know before i clear them.
