The zook is just not cutting it as a road car and tool carrier.
How much better are Vitaras on the road? Are they? How wide is the rear door opening?
How capable are they off road in standard form ( no crawling or rock hopping required just family camping).
Is there any other option sub 10K younger than 1990 that is a better option?? (prefer 4 door)

strange thought: how capable off road would an AE 95R Toyota be with some more ground clearance and some decent rubber??

the vit will be a lot more comfy on the road - more power, suspension better setup for on road driving, and prolly more creature comforts inside the cab. being better on the road they lose out a bit in the bush, but only on "hardcore" stuff... they'll be fine for rough roads and the normal family camping kind of stuff.
