how many kms for a td42

the rolled car i was looking at buying has 350 000 kms on it. just stock diesil engine. i know diesels are good for heaps of kms but how reliable will it be and how long do they or has yours lasted?

405,000 on mine. Alternator & radiator are the only major things, oh & an axle seal.

If service correctly, will last indefinatly, hard to say. We stripped a mates down with 650,000km and it was like new, almost no signs of wear. The hatching from the cylinder hone was just worn of in the middle. Main and big ends had just started to mark the white metal

If abused alot less.

As yours has been rolled this could be a different story, If it was turned off straight away and not tried to be started whilst full of oil it should be fine.

Do a compression check first of all, maybe flick in some main and big ends and a rear main seal when you remove it from the wreck.

well if the engine seems ok is it a good buy for 1500? for a complete car?

i have 470000 on mine and it doesnt miss a beat. doesnt use oil unless flogged all day in the bush and i think thats normal anyway
