hey i have just finished putting new engine in and cant get it to start. It has spark on all cylinders and there is fuel getting to the fuel rail although it is very very low pressure. is this normal? or does it need more pressure. Have had fuel pump out and it seems to be working fine.
any help very appreciated.
thanks, Alastair

yea timing is all good nothing has been changed when engine was removed and all fan belts have stayed tight. Getting heaps of fuel pressure now, is there anyway to check to see if the injectors are working propely

double check your wiring...is the flow meter plugged in....the oxygen sensor...the earth to the injecters on the inlet manifold....if you have spark....squirt some "start ya bastard" in the aircleaner....the way it works is, the flow meter senses flow, and allows the circuit opening relay to open and injection starts happening....

ok thanks for the reply have been over all wires 100 times lol everything looks good and ment to be were it is. will it matter if the sensor on the exhaust is not plugged in ?? the one just down from the extractors?? all earths appear to be hooked up. when i spray start ya bastard in, it fires and tryes to start for a bit, also have noticed that when engine is cranking fuel pump is not running the only way we can get it to pump is by hooking power directly to it but even then wont start... really starting to confuse me lol .. thanks heaps for your help

Have you got the fuel lines around the right way?

In the footwell of the drivers side, is a relay called the circuit opening relay....it is not opening....it allows injection to take place..if you have an alarm on the truck, nows a good time to check its allowing power through....most are connected to this relay....it supplies power to the computer to let it know to start injecting and start running...it also controls the fuel pump relay. This is all from memory, if you dont have a workshop manual with all the fault codes listed and how to get em, start looking for a downloadable one on pirate or ih8mud. Without one, you are working blind.

yep fuel lines are all good checked that. actually i think that the car used to have an allarm when i bought it but never knew if it worked or not, took out alarm wires when i stripped the car down, hopefully this is the problem. will have another play around with it tomorrow afternoon. thanks
