Don't have prices for you but if you call Nobles @ sailsbury they are rigging specialists and do all grades and types of wire rope - give them a call they were really well priced on chain and pinch hooks

thanks
Got a price from atlas chains and was cheeper than them.
Not sure if it is P.C to post these but anyway.....
Atlas: $121 for 45.7M of 8mm cable including swaged one end for hook
Nobles: $123.40 for 45.7M of 8mm cable + $15.00 for swaging one end-total of $138.4
All prices including GST
Not much in it but every buck counts I s'pose.
Was going to get plasma but cant afford it anymore
Don't think it was worth it anyway unless you are using the winch a lot for comps etc.

why 45.7m ?? why not 45m or 46m? I reckon they charged you extra for being anal about the length!
nobles must have upped their prices significantly, last time I went there (Sydney - Auburn) to get a winch cable it was about $55 for a 40m cable with a swaged eye one end. would have been abt 2 years ago.

Nah no extra I just got the same length as what is on it now. Didn't really think it would be a prob as they are just as unlikely to have 45 or 46m of it lying around. (ie they would still have to cut it no matter what)
Don't know about the price difference to when you bought it 2 years ago? that sounds super cheep!
All I know is that it is a lot cheaper than some 4x4 stores sell it for and a lot cheaper than rope!

yeah it was pretty cheap, I was surprised at the time as I had been quoted $250ish for a cable from a couple of 4WD shops.
maybe it was early in the morning and the girl at the offfice had brain fade or someting.

Maybe you could try some yachting places or rigging specialists. Though yacht & 4x4 seem to have the same effect as the word bridal, it adds $$$$$$ to the actual cost.

about $2/m and $1.5/swage, we buy it in 500m rolls usually.

i had some broken strands from the ascc brissy and took the cable in and they fitted a thimble inside the loop and crimped it with their 100 tonne machine.
at least i think they call it a thimble
