tailshaft + fuel tank issues

during putting my 4 inch lift under my shorty we had to remove the petrol tank as we needed a bent control arm. have recently bolted arm and tank back in but my tailshaft now hits the tank during artic. why does it only do it now? never used to do it with the 2 inch lift. i might have to re adjust the panhard but even then it will be running very close to it
anyone else had this?

If it flexes well you will get a lot of rear steer which will drive the pinion into the tank.

I had this happen to my truck, fixed it with a long arm kit and moded the tank as well.
Hope this helps

i put in a 5 inch efs lift, i needed to chop the hell out of my tank, and i used the std upper trailing arm, was a bit sceptical about the bent ones you can buy.. i.e. strength and the possibility of incorrect distances of the bushes to match the std one on the other side.

i ended up welding in some box section into the tank for the trailing arm to 'flex into' and cutting 20mm off the inner length of the tank to clear the uni's..

i have also flipped my tailshaft to stop the larger uni hitting on the crossmember when flexing. hence having to take so much off my tank.
