Just talking to a mate, he says that Shane has closed the doors to the business, but the club is still there.

They utilise a system of vertically aligned hinges which allow the doors to swing on an arc of an estimated 110 degrees, pivoting on forementioned hinges from a fully open to a closed position. Due to previous alignment at installation, the doors meet perfectly in the middle when manually or automatically closed utilising either electrical or stored energy device such as a spring or gas strut. When said doors are aligned, this then gives the door owner an opportunity to avoid further usage of doors by other users by using one or several locking mechanisms. Most common of which are two methods. First are sliding bolts which mate with holes in floor and door frame again aligned at installation of door, stopping the door from opening due to sheer inertia of many tons of concrete. Second aformentioned device is usually a key and tumbler arrangement, turning a rotary motion into a linear motion to move a bolt from inside one door to halfway inside the other, therefore cancelling the pivoting point of the hinges and basically for all intensive purposes turns the doors into a solid.

Bugger, had planned to get some work done there, got to be the most honest mechanic I've ever come across!

I'd only been taking my pootrol there recently but I was pretty happy with the service.. he'd always seem to round down the price of stuff, as a customer it was great! but if it put him out of business.. then that aint so good.. seemed pretty busy too, so hard to see why he'd be going broke.

Seriously guys what business is it of anyones how or why the buisness is shut down. Im sure the guys there just want to get on with things and not have their issues strung out on a forum. It happened when cheezy came into dificulty so lets just cut these guys some slack and leave it alone.

It suprises me how many 4x4 shops you see around melbourne and outer burbs, most ive never heard of, not suprising some are closing in current climate. Wombat sounds pretty good business which are the ones that usually survive.

Prob shut to stop gravity getting out. Its so hard to design something to work properly that will drive the first layer of gravity using airbags if it keeps escaping.

But seriously. Ive never seen , heard, etc anything about this joint. There are a million reasons why a shop shuts and a million reason to that reason. So i vote we offer our support and condolences and spread the great work he did. wouldnt be the first time a customer has followed a tradesmen to a different workplace.

Which offsider, mechanic offsider or the other one?

I doubt it, but might have to ask the brother.

How can Shane still have customers when he has shut down? I have a fair idea what was happening since he works there and my mum worked their too.

Not fishing, just trying to find out what other people "know"

Well i must be reading a different thread to you. Yes i am an idiot, as i am many things. Every one is entitled to their opinion as are you, But perhaps but somemore effort into your remarks than a simple idiot. You can be my hero for the day.

My opinion is your also tool who has nothing better to do than to help stir the pot of a bloke that has gone under regardless of how and why. Doesnt matter how/why.

I also see weiner laying claim to a few things. One of the first to say shop is shut. He claims to have insider info and doesnt wanna say to much besides his bro working there and is happy to do cashies off the back of his old bosses good will.

Then if we take into account that he has insider info and that he doesnt want to say more incase, but then says "$$$"

Then when someone says his partner may have had a hand in it wants to know who said what , but will ask his Bro anyway.

But i definatly hope i didnt get the parts wrong which say the shop appears to be closed, ring leave a message and he DOES ring you back, He is a honest fair dinkum bloke who was out fighting vic fires at some stage.

I guess im prob wrong to have the opinion of banning Weiner, Pergaps this thread should be locked, comment made to stop bitching and get over it.

IF the thread creator had of said hes been getting rooted around, lost money, lost parts, etc. and had a few people with similiar issues, then i say Aust should name and shame.

And perhaps if you gunna advertise that your Bro will do cashies, perhaps state that his boss/ex boss is aware and happy to do so and advertise he was working for them.

My vote is LOCK THIS THREAD, and let the Wombats work. Like i said i dont know em, or even care if i know em or not. Just let em be and if they are shut down and screw you over come on here and unleash the dogs of war.
