Hilux Axles

Post by midi73 »

I have a 03 diesel 3ltr hilux. Before I bought it I was told that it had the complete rear axle swapped out. What I have noticed is that the rear wheel track is narrower than the front. I am wondering if this is normal, are older lux diffs narrower. Also what ratio should be in the 03 diesel lux.
Just trying to work out if I have the right diff in there.
Also the centre is noisey, so if anyone has the right ratio diff they want to let go please let me know. I do have one at home which is 4.3 out of an older lux, will this fit?
Cheers for the replies.

What is the WMS meaurement of the rear?

The diff code should be on the ID plate on the firewall.

Hmmm I was afraid of that. Just to clarify, I know that the new shape, 05 on is wider, just not sure about 03.
Yes will look at the diff code and see what it says.

Bugger. Yes it is the IFS front.
So does anyone know where I can get the wider track diff for an 03 ifs front hilux, Lol.
