2000 GU patrol ute with a 50mm bodylift

Thinking it would be good to lift the motor and boxes up 40 to 50mm.

anyone done this?

It looks like the easiest way would be to make new mounts for the engine where they bolt to the block, and for the gearbox maybe a custom crossmember?

why would you do this?

centre of gravity goes up.

And unless you make a new design gearbox crossmember your not going to gain any clearance

It would give me good clearance gains to the sump and transfercase ( both of which have copped a beating ) and also driveshaft - crossmember.
But mainly trying to make room for a 3rd link.

C.O.G, well centre of gravity increases with alot of other mods too.

trying to target a more appropriate audience.
wasn't getting much interest.

Im already pretty sure of how im going to do it, but it sounds like people out there are doing this mod, so im just trying to find out, specifically, how they are going about it before i go ahead.

also is it worth going to performance or heavy duty engine mounts while im fabbing?, the factory mounts have over 350,000km on them and dont need replacing.
