download ignition section ( or better still whole manual ) from
www.warfs.org
has the complete go to whoa procedure.

I'd tend to knock a little of what the manual recommends for timing, OR always run at least 95RON fuel. Otherwise most Feroza donks ping their titties off and will eventually die.

My engine lasted 220,000 km and still going and it doesnt knock. The only time it pingd is when i advance it to get abit of grunt.

AJ's got a good point. I usually fine tune by ear when I'm driving. If it pings when worked hard a bit more retard.
As virtually nothing on/in the engine is standard the actuall figures aren't much use to anyone however.

just looked at the manual and it dosent have an acual degree setting it just says check to see that the mark on the crankshaft pulley is aligned with the indicator of the timing belt cover...
i suppose that will have to do, ill have a bit of a play with it though
Thanks guys

3 degrees advanced (+- 2) rings a bell.
I could never run mine on even the "factory" 3 degrees due to pinging. Even using 98 octane fuel.
