Decompressing a 3L (2.8 Litre) Hilux motor!

Has anyone decompressed a Hilux 2.8 motor when fitting a turbo?

I've been running my Hilux with a turbo fitted for 15 Years & building a motor for a Surf (2.8). The Surfs have lower compression compared to Hilux motor & was wondering what the benefit would be to decompress the motor, if any? I currently run 11PSI boost & that goes pretty good.

Thanks

heard of a 5L that ran a decompession plate.

problem with low compession diesels is they tend to run crap when off boost especially when cold but can run great with high boost.
if your not running high boost (ie 15+psi) then its proberly not worth the cost. would be better to spend the $$ on intercooler etc.

but if your going to run big boost and max fuel then dropping comp down to 20:1 would be good.
