Is a 3inch exhaust on a gq 2.8 too big? Does anyone do a bolt on kit in 3inch?

Not sure about the 3", but i know you can get a 2 3/4" system (dump to tail) from Baeudesert for about 900 (no muffler) plus freight

I'm not sure if 3inch is to big. But there are definately bolt on kits for gq's.
I'm in the process of having a bolt on stainless system made.

the local exhaust mob in town said 3inch is too big, but I've done some research and there are some guys running 3inch! but I'm not sure if it is 3inch dump pipe back or just 2 1/2 dump into 3inch.
What elce is another way to get the turbo to spool up a little bit earlyer?

I have a 2.8 GU and put a 3 in exhaust on from the turbo back. Difference was amazing and instant. I would highly recommend it

I just made stainless 3" mandrel bend for mine using the original cast dump into 2.5" for about 50mm then used 2.5" to 3" reducer (just because it was easier) into a straight through truck muffler bout 600mm long then straight over diff and out.
The difference from standard to standard and no mufflers then this is amazing. I have turned the fuel pump up about 3/4 turn aswell it now spools alot quicker and shows about 13 to 14 psi without touching the turbo.
Goes and sounds great.
My mates cant beleive how well it goes and they drive 4.2 turbo diesels that are turned up.
In my opinion totaly worth it.
Cheers Damo

Good price on the second one. My only concern would be how "sporty" the exhaust tone is
Dunno, maybe I am getting old but I couldn't think of anything worse than being able to hear an exhaust drone at 100km/h all the way down the highway.

I got mine done at Windsor exhaust in western Sydney. It is not loud, nice tone with a perfect turbo whistle. I spoke to several other exhaust places that did not recommend 3 inch at allm but have had it for about 7 months and love it.

Got mine done today, $380 for 21/2 inch with dump and muffler of my choice in eastern suburbs. Doesnt sound too much different from stock so doesnt attract attention and goes twice as better as before.

I just fittted a 3" exhaust from dump pipe back with straight through and you can notice difference.
I brought mine from scotts rods in Ipswich QLD(
www.scottsrods.com.au) for $707.00 including freight.
Great system and quick service.
