best ways to get more power from your feroza?
what are the best mods to get more power out of ur feroza
i know about exhaust, extractors
but are there any secret ones that anybody knows of
chears

However at those rev's your not producing anymore tourqe, and driving offroad with those sorts of revs will lead to breakages ... you need to be looking at ways of producing more tourqe rather than revs. best trick for more power i found with mine was to remove the cat and add extractors and a freeflow exhaust.nebivedu wrote:Conputer from daihatsu charade 1.3(95PS) 4x4. Revs go then to 7.500 instead of 6.250 (stock feroza).
cheers Meece ..(not to be confused with Mighty Mouse )

More ! More! More ! techniques pleaase. I have done extractors, free flow exhaust , free flow air intake. It has improved the performance of
my Roza. but as usual , We always want more. Any other possible suggestions?
In the philippines our Roza's are carburated. Are there efi kits
sold anywhere in the world?

As far as I know, the engine is the same as the Daihatsu applause, with a different sump, cam and maybe different computer?.... so you could assume all the bits off a Daihatsu Applause (including the EFI) would fit your ferozamonmendoza wrote:More ! Feroza's seem to struggle with cooling and pinging at the best of times - I don't think cranking more timing in would be a great idea.
The DeTomaso charade motor is an option, these make quite a bit more power AFAIK, but it's all up high.
Turbo/supercharging isn't a viable option IMHO - Mightymouse built a series of turbo/supercharged motors and I think one even made it as far as the chassis dyno.... where it failed. MM gave up after hitting the wall with too many design compromises with the factory engine- cooling, rods, pistons etc.
MM has access to some amazing equipment and is very talented mechanically (and quite stubborn... he should have given up and bought a suzuki long ago ) If he's given up, it's for good reason.
In any case, apparently the stock manual is no great thing and won't take to lots more torque anyway.
I think I'd pursue a DeTomaso motor. BTW, they make a lovely noise too.
Steve.

Depending on what sort of driving you're doing...
I'd do extractors and 2" system, and an Applause cam. You could probably improve the air intake system for a few extra ponies, but make sure you don't compromise the filtration.
Should come in < $1000 retail, cheaper if you can source parts and do some of the work yourself.

The Daihatsu motors are a dead ( and not particularly rewarding ) end.
The HD-EG ( Detomaso ) engine is about the best of the breed but it has to rev hard to make its power and that's not really useable both on and off road. By the time I re - tuned mine to be drivable it wasn't that much better than stock.
If it a road car on standard wheels then a cam, extractors and air filter will make small improvements ( pod air filter off road = dead engine ) but once you change wheel sizes then its all pretty pointless.
Mechanically the engine can be fixed but its an expensive job to solve the design issues and if you don't fix those then any form of boost is a problem.
My record with a HD motor is 161 flywheel kW @ 1 Bar boost ( supercharged and intercooled ) at which point it suffered an alternator failure ( the Number 1 conrod knocked the alternator off as it came through the block........ ). That was on an engine dyno so cooling wasn't an issue like it would be in the vehicle.
Also the transmission is fragile ( auto excepted ) and the transfer has a bad reputation.
Little mods will all help - but don't expect any big gains.
And Steve's wrong... I've decided I must be more stupid than stubborn. Still I've built overpowered Suzuki's - but if you listen carefully you can almost hear them planning to kill you - and that's hard to forgive.
And be VERY CAREFULL with ignition timing

( usual disclaimers )
It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.
