G'day all im hoping some of you more experienced hilux owners can help me here. I own a 1990 hilux SR5, 2.8 d duel cab ute. Currently it has a two inch spring lift shitty after market shocks, draw system, alloy steps and bull bar, rear step. I have just had an Air locker fitted to the rear and run 31" muddies. I belong to the TLCC but not many hilux owners in club. So who to ask for advice, well someone here. So im just asking what people think are the best mods for a hilux to make it into something that can be heaps of fun and capable but still a sensible daily driver...insurance and stuff. Im not much of a mud rat but love to play in the rocks. Thanks.

A very hard q to answer, prolly go with some sill protection and some frontal protection. If you dont have a lot of experience, the mods you already have will get you a long way without any more. The mods I mentioned will allow you to play and get more experience on the trail without busting up the truck on simple obstacles. The best teacher can be experience, as you get more time behind the wheel you will learn what your truck can and cannot do, and then you can do the mods to suit what sort of driving you prefer. You don't want to be one of those people with all the gear and no idea...
