use 80 hubs and rotors will widen the rear track about 70mm and then weld on mounts for the calipers tho im using this to set up 60 diffs in a hybrid with the hand brake on the trans so ya may have to do something about a hand brake unless yours is on the trans like mine

On ih8ud.com I think youll find most threads detailing RDB conversions on SF axles.. Your 60 axle will be a FF.. Basically the conversion involves having a spigot machined onto the rear of the FF hub, and rotors machined to suit the spigot. Longer wheel studs are pressed in, the front studs can be made work with washers under the head.. When I did mine, I elected to not use the washers under the heads but rather use a 6mm wheel spacer instead.. Caliper brackets will need be made or bought and installed to locate the caliper. I believe Eureka does the brackets, no doubt others do them.. Apparently only solid rotors can be engineered for road use, these are on early hilux.
Some ideas here.. You cant use the chopped up swival housing, as the backing plate bolt pattern on the 60 axle is different..

Hi Mate, Ive got discs on the rear of my FJ40. Gave diff to a machine shop, they milled a bit, added mid 80's hilux discs and rotors. Best $800 I ever spent on the old girl.

...and now the OP knows exactly what s/he has to do to have the conversion done.. Awesome.. I dont know why you'd give the differential to a machine shop to have a brake conversion done.. $800!? Where? Ripped off.
