G'day all.
I've got a Gremlin in the Patrol, every time i put on the parkers the fuse blows, but the front headlights stay on just not the back ones.
Now i have spent most of Yesterday searching, and have traced all the earth wires around the car and have cleaned them and put them back, but the prblem is still there
.
Can the switch in the stalk cause this problem, as the wiper's and washers have been know to turn them selves on, so i'm thinking that it has to be the switch.
And yep i have seached Outers and that's why i checked the Earths

this has happend to me also exactly the same problem.
u have 2 choices here
1 easy: run a wire from the front parker to the rear along side the wiring loom.
this is what i did.
2 hard: rip out every wire and start again checking everything
to much work so i went with option 1.
if u do find the problem please let me know.
thanks and good luck

ok option 1 the best one in my books haha
run a wire from the front parker (power) to the read tail lights (power)
im sure u have earth if u didnt my guess is no other lights would work so u just need the power
run a wire connect it to front and rear and if they work then make it nice and neat

Check where the wire for the headlights separates from the main loom. I had the same problem with my right main headlight. After changing stalks and many frustrating hours, I found the problem at the loom. So removed the insulation from that part of the loom, cut and re-soldered the headlight wiring back in to the loom. Problem solved and has never played up since.

Just to update the thread.
I found the problem, it was behind the dash, there are a lot of un-used wiring in this thing.
Some of the wiring had rub'd through and that was causing a dead short, so a quick tidy up and removing a heap of now dead wires, i have parking light's again
.
Some observations:
Check behind the dash first, as this is a lot easier than tring to find it along the loom.
Make sure you use good conections with insulation.
Get a wiring diagram for it.
Take you time
If you get frustrated, have a coffee\beer and take a break
